I also took a couple spore prints from my last grow Cambodians and will more than likely use them. I have an idea of how to make the spore water but how many cc's can I get from one spore print?
I feel like this number cannot be exact as some of my prints are larger than others. Is it just something you eye up.
Thanks guys for your insight. The Cryptkeeper Well-Known Member. SirLancelot said:. One dark, nice size print can be used, in theory, to make several syringes, but I find it easier just to use the whole thing.
Inject your sterile water, into the clean bag containing the clean print and suck it back up. No mess, no hassle, and everything stays sterile if you are careful. I don't do bags, but 1cc is more than enough for a qt jar.
If you're taking lots of prints, then spores and spore solution is pretty much free so no need to skimp imo. The Cryptkeeper said:. What Bulk method are you using? I use 3 pints of grain spawn to one kitty litter tray I go around I manually fan the houses times a day Hell yea man that sounds legit.
Like I said Im new to this and still kinda getting a grasp. The spores need time to hydrate in the water. This will take at least 24 hours, but days is even better just room temperature or incubator.
You can also save them for a later moment. The sterilized " PF jar" is then injected with a solution containing spores and water from a syringe, creating a one step procedure for reliably growing mushrooms indoors. Spore syringes do not last as long because eventually the water develops bacteria. A general guideline is 8 to 12 months. Although we have heard many reports of 2 to 5 years.
If your spore prints do not germinate within the usual time frame then rehydrate them in sterile water for 24 hours. Anyone's normal spore print is good for one dark 10ml syringe or 2 normal 20ml syringes.
Others can be enough for many more syringes. When you birth the cakes , dunk them in fresh, cold water for hours and then roll them in moist vermiculite before putting them in the fruiting chamber. Birthing the Cakes Once a cake is completely covered in white mycelium, wait at least more days before taking the cake out of the jar.
When you are ready, and in a fairly clean room, begin transferring the cakes from their jars into their fruiting chamber described in the next step. You don't want to soak them too much longer than the hours, because a longer soaking can ' drown ' the mycelium.
It's best to place a cinderblock or something heavy on top of the soaking logs so they stay completely submerged. It will just take longer for the mycelium to grow if it isn't near the optimum temperature.
In order to make first generation grain spawn, you first need to get some properly prepared and sterilized grain. Step 2: Set Up in a Clean Environment.
Step 3: Grab some mycelium. Step 4: Inoculate. Step 5: Shake the Jar. Step 6: Allow to Colonize. Use cc of spore solution per one pound bag.
